Networking is all about connections!
To start networking, you must first change your perception, that is, transform the idea of creating strictly work ties for solid friendships that are the basis of your growth.
Once this is achieved, it is important to highlight the fact that when you meet someone, you cannot sell your product, at least not immediately. Remember, networking is not about you, it is about developing connections and relationships. Focus on understanding and trying to help the person you know, that way they could be of help to you in the future.
When you start a conversation, try to stay attentive to what they say, show interest and respect, and have some questions prepared in mind.
Lastly, don’t forget to follow the people you met, we are not just talking about following them on social networks, we are talking about following them in their day to day, what they are doing, what new jobs or projects they are doing; make sure you keep the relationship you’ve created. They may not be able to help you right now but in the future, they will. Focus on forging a true relationship, which will give you results at the right time.
Stay safe and stay connected!
